Making Resilience a Reality: Strengthening Today’s Medicine Supply Chains for Tomorrow’s Challenges

Across recent years, substandard medicines have led to hundreds of preventable deaths across the world, especially in children. Poor quality medicines can arise from a number of substandard links across the supply chain and addressing these gaps to maintain a high set of global standards is crucial to ensure healthy populations.

As a leader in the global supply chain space, USP will host a flagship event on the sidelines of the 76th World Health Assembly to fight substandard medicines and explore ways to build resiliency and ensure quality products. The event will gather a diverse array of prominent stakeholders, including WHO Member States, Ministers of Health and key global stakeholders, encouraging greater collaboration to close gaps in the upstream medicines supply chain.

Hosted at the InterContinental Hotel on 24 May, the event will feature 90-minutes of programming followed by a 90-minute food and drink reception. As part of the reception, USP will celebrate its delayed 200-year anniversary, showcasing its deep commitment over the years to ensuring quality medicines and supporting healthy populations.

From manufacturers, to suppliers, to pharmacists themselves, everyone throughout the supply chain and beyond must commit to producing and distributing high-quality products. Join us on 24 May as we collectively advocate for safe and quality medicines for everyone, everywhere.
