WHA76 Side Event: Framework Convention on Global Health, a rights-based treaty for sustainable health equity

This side event will introduce Member States, civil society and other
WHA delegates to a proposed global health treaty based on human rights
and aimed at achieving health equity.
The FCGH would help achieve
sustained, universal, and rights-based individual and global health
security by establishing standards and a financing framework for
universal health coverage and stronger health systems and promoting
respect for health and human rights in all international regimes.
This event will set the stage for understanding how best to
engage countries to ensure that the FCGH would meet the needs and
concerns of their population and civil society in order to maximize its
effectiveness and potential to achieve its goals, maximizing its
potential for contributions to global health.
