In the Face of Localization: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA)

November 1, 2022

RSVP

To promote localization, donor agencies such as USAID and their partners are looking to identify and elevate the experiences and expertise of practitioners, researchers, and advocates within low- and middle-income countries. But to what extent are marginalized voices being heard? In the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, people with disabilities, indigenous people, and those with varying gender identities have received increased attention, but have they been a part of conversations and the development of solutions that will impact their lives?

WCAPS and CGD will host a call to explore how we can hold donors and other development partners accountable to ensure that ‘national perspectives’ are inclusive of all levels of society and different backgrounds. What best practices can we share amongst ourselves and with the larger international development community to ensure that we are always thinking of inclusion, intersectionality, and access?
