Health Systems Strengthening Learning Series: Advancing the role of communities in health systems measurement and monitoring

January 31, 2024

RSVP

Communities play a vital role in ensuring health care systems deliver integrated services that meet their needs. But how do communities support the measurement and monitoring of health systems to ensure improved outcomes related to equity, quality, and resource mobilization? And how do they drive learning, adaptation, and accountability? Community-led monitoring has been successful when applied to various health areas, but there are less data on its potential impact on health systems. As part of USAID’s 2024 Health Systems Strengthening Learning Series, PATH will host a webinar focusing on USAID’s Learning Agenda Question 5: What are effective and sustainable mechanisms or processes that enable the participation of private sector, civil society, and public organizations in developing locally led solutions to improve high-performing health care? What enables the effective participation or leadership of marginalized populations themselves in the development and implementation of these solutions? To address these questions, the webinar will explore examples of how communities are engaging in health systems monitoring and measurement priorities and approaches. Our panel will discuss actionable strategies for supporting local communities to drive measurement priorities and approaches.
