GHC is involved in the following United Nations initiatives:

• United Nations General Assembly
• High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage
• High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Preparedness and Response

High-Level Meeting on UHC

Due to COVID-19, the global health community is far from achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC), despite a very ambitious Political Declaration made in 2019. The 2023 High Level Meeting (HLM) on UHC is meant to reinvigorate the topic and ensure member states recommit to concrete actions.

As a member of UHC2030 and an Advisory Group member of the Civil Society Engagement Mechanism (CSEM), GHC served on the task force responsible for developing disseminating the Action Agenda for the UHC Movement.

In 2023, GHC will also be participating in:

• The HLM on UHC multistakeholder hearing
• The HLM on UHC

High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Preparedness and Response

In September 2022, the general assembly decided to hold a one-day high-level meeting to discuss pandemic prevention, preparedness and response. This meeting is currently scheduled to take place on September 21^st, 2023. In advance of this meeting, GHC will participate in a multistakeholder in May 2023.
