2024 Global Health Landscape Symposium

The 2024 Global Health Landscape Symposium (GHLS) will occur amidst a year of enormous shifts. Approximately 40 national elections, including the U.S. presidential election, are — or already have — taken place worldwide. It is critical to assess the impact this watershed year will have on global health investments and policies, and understand how progress can continue to be made, despite these challenges. 

The purpose of this year’s GHLS is to explore both virtually and in-person what the changes in governance in the United States and in countries worldwide means for global health. We invite Global Health Council members and the broader community of advocates to explore how to make progress possible by using the power of our collective voice, working across disease areas, and fighting for sustainable funding and equitable policies to improve global health and well-being for all.

Submit a Proposed Virtual Session

Global Health Council is accepting submissions for proposed concurrent sessions. n keeping with the theme of  this year’s symposium, Leadership and Policy in Global Health: Navigating New Frontiers, session submissions should focus on governance in global health and fall under one of these tracks:

  • Innovation and Technology 
  • Climate and Health
  • Health Equity (e.g. gender, social participation, most-affected populations)
  • Health Financing

Each session will be 50 minutes in length; sessions will take place from 8 AM to 12 PM ET every day. 

Submissions will be reviewed by GHC staff using the following criteria:

  • Session proposed falls under one or more of the symposium tracks
  • Presenter(s)/panel is inclusive and representative of the diversity within global health (gender, geography, etc.)
  • Session adds valuable insight and perspective 
  • Sessions is not duplicative of other sessions in terms of content or presenters
  • Preference will be given to sessions that include at least one GHC member organization as a sponsor

Submission deadline is Friday, October 11. Organizations will be notified by Monday, October 21, 2024

Accepted sessions will be included in the official GHLS 2024 program. Organizers are responsible for preparation and implementation of the their content. Sessions will be hosted on the conference’s virtual/Zoom platform and GHC will provide technical and logistical support. 

Please note: Submission are only being accepted for GHLS 2024 virtual sessions. The in-person day taking place on November 21 in Washington, DC is being planned by the Global Health Council staff.
