Our Priorities

To help shape the future of global health and protect the progress achieved to date, Global Health Council (GHC) advocates for:

U.S. leadership in global health

The U.S. has long been at the forefront of global health progress. To ensure the U.S. continues to deliver on its commitments, GHC holds policy makers accountable to global health equity principles, multilateral pledges, and civil society inclusion.

Multilateral institutions protect the world against public health threats, helping countries prevent, treat, and protect their citizens from disease. GHC proactively partners with regional and national civil society to actively participate in multilateral processes, ensuring that they are continually improving and that diverse points of view are incorporated.

Multidisciplinary, holistic, and people-centered global health security

To be effective, global health security must be multidisciplinary, holistic, and centered on the safety and security of all people.

Health for some is not good enough; an equitable opportunity to be as healthy as possible is necessary for all. GHC believes that the goal for global health assistance must be ensuring that all people have access to quality health services, when and where they need it, without suffering financial hardship. We put equity at the center of all we do, helping to elevate the voices of civil society and ensure diverse perspectives are included in global health decision making.
