The Global Health Council (GHC) is pleased to announce its selection to the Steering Committee of the first ever World Health Organization Civil Society Commission. The mission of the WHO Civil Society Commission is to strengthen dialogue, foster collaboration, and provide recommendations to the WHO on its engagement with civil society at the global, regional, and national levels. 

As a Steering Committee member, GHC will provide guidance, strategic direction and technical support to the WHO CS Commission. Eliana Monteforte, our Director for Special Projects, will be representing GHC on the Steering Committee. 

“At GHC we believe the most powerful voice is the collective voice,” said Ms. Monteforte. “We are excited to bring our experience and the voices of our various members and partners to the Commission to ensure WHO initiatives, policies, and programs are inclusive, equitable and respond to the needs of the most vulnerable populations.”
