Youth Empowerment in Global Health

May 23, 2025 @ 3:30 pm5:00 pm
Free

As the global health landscape evolves, youth are increasingly stepping forward—not just as participants, but as leaders shaping the direction of public health, policy, and advocacy. In this session, we spotlight two outstanding youth leaders: the current Chair of the Junior Doctor Network (JDN) and the official Youth Delegate to the WHO from the Netherlands. Drawing from their distinct experiences in medical leadership and international representation, they will share how young professionals can play a transformative role in advancing global health goals.

This dialogue will explore both the opportunities and challenges that youth face in engaging with health governance and systems, particularly within large institutions like WHO. It will also examine how intergenerational collaboration, national support, and youth-led initiatives can be leveraged to build more inclusive, responsive, and sustainable health systems.

By centering youth voices from both institutional and grassroots perspectives, this session aims to inspire meaningful action and reflection on how we can empower the next generation of health leaders—not in the future, but now.

The event is hybrid, you can also join us online.
