Save the Children Launches New Global Campaign:
Every Last Child

May 13, 2016
10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Barbara Jordan Conference Center
1300 G Street, NW
Washington, DC

On April 26, 2016, Save the Children launched a new global campaign, Every Last Child and a new report, Every Last Child: The children the world chooses to forget

Over the next three years, Save the Children commits to do its part to tackle the barriers that exclude millions of children from making progress towards our three 2030 breakthroughs so no child under five dies from preventable causes, all children learn through quality education and violence against children is no longer tolerated.  Our campaign will help bring to life our strategic focus on the most deprived and marginalized children–with a specific focus in our international advocacy on reaching refugee children and girls.

Last September, the international community, including world leaders including  President Obama, came together to agree on an ambitious agenda to build a better world for us and our children.  With the newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals, we made a bold commitment to end extreme poverty.  We also committed to ensuring that we end extreme poverty among the marginalized and most deprived populations, and thus fulfill the leaders commitment “to leave no one behind” as the world embarks on this ambitious agenda.

Here, in the U.S., we will continue to strongly focus our efforts on ensuring the U.S. helps meet ending preventable child and maternal deaths in an equitable way including pushing ahead on the Reach Act.

To learn more about our campaign, we invite you to Save the Children’s event launching the Every Last Child campaign on May 13, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Barbara Jordan Conference Center, 1300 G Street, NW, Washington, DC.  A formal invitation will follow.
