Reframing Planetary Health in Geopolitical Crises

May 22 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

We live in an era when the interdependence of human health and the environment has never been more evident—or more vulnerable. Many sectors and key constituencies are not only disproportionately affected in these contexts, but also hold vital knowledge and capacity for driving change that is not only scientifically sound but socially just and politically responsive.

Organized by the WHO Youth Council, this WHA side event seeks to reframe the global discourse on planetary health through the lens of geopolitical instability – centering youth perspectives, Indigenous knowledge, and lived experiences. It will explore how health governance, environmental stewardship, and peacebuilding can be more effectively aligned to catalyze solutions that are inclusive, resilient, and attuned to today’s global challenges.
