Mobilizing Domestic Resources for NTDs: Lessons from Colombia, Guatemala, and Philippines from USAID’s Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases | East program with The NTD NGO Network

One key pillar of the World Health Organization’s NTD Road Map for 2030 is the need for a shift in operating model to facilitate country ownership of NTD programming. To date, health services and interventions for NTDs have been left out of many national and subnational policy, planning, governance, and finance processes. To achieve the Road Map’s goals, governments must consider how best to mobilize and efficiently utilize financing from domestic sources to ensure adequate coverage of NTD services.

Please join us for a timely and engaging conversation on domestic resource mobilization for NTDs. Participants will hear from Colombia, Guatemala, and the Philippines, three countries that have secured domestic financing and resources for NTD programming. Panelists will discuss how key factors, such as advocacy, political commitment, multi-sector collaboration, and health sector budget integration have advanced domestic commitments to tackle NTDs.
