The landscape for global development is evolving rapidly. As the weight of philanthropic and bilateral support becomes more localized, international NGOs headquartered in the global north are looking for new and innovative operating models and approaches that redress power imbalances and accelerate impact. Corporations are expanding their commitment to gender equality beyond their CSRs, integrating their commitment to women’s empowerment across their value chains.

We will engage our speakers and participants in a conversation about the state of the sector. We will discuss these new models, and ask: Will they accelerate progress towards meeting the Sustainable Development Goals? How can we use the current market transition to do more, and to do it better?

Speakers:

  • Carrie Hessler-Radelet, Project Concern International (PCI) (moderator)
  • Sarah Degnan Kambou, President & CEO, International Center for Research on Women (moderator)
  • Heather Anderson, Interim CEO, Global Health Corps
  • Katja Freiwald, Director, Global Partnerships, Unilever
  • Raj Kumar, President & Editor-in-chief, Devex
