Up to half of the people living with HIV continue to present to care with advanced HIV disease (AHD), and individuals with AHD are at a high risk of death, even after starting antiretroviral therapy. Those with AHD are more prone to opportunistic infections. Tuberculosis, cryptococcal meningitis, and severe bacterial infections remain the leading causes of mortality, and 30% of children and adolescents still present with severe immunosuppression.
Join EGPAF’s next installment of the Evidence to Action (E2A) webinar series with opening remarks from Anja Giphart, Executive Vice President of Medical and Scientific Affairs at EGPAF. This E2A will be moderated by Appolinaire Tiam, Vice President of Technical Strategy and Innovation at EGPAF, with panelists Judith Kose, Director of Pediatric and Adolescent Services at EGPAF; Eddie Matiya, Project Lead — Advanced HIV at EGPAF; and Vincent Tukei, Director of Public Health Evaluation at EGPAF.
This webinar will provide an overview of comprehensive AHD programming with lessons from Malawi.
Registration is required in order to attend. EGPAF will share a recording at the conclusion of the webinar. Interpretation will be offered in American Sign Language, English, French, Portuguese and Swahili.
