Immunizations have been described as a “best buy” in global health, helping to stop outbreaks, preventing death, and generating high returns on investment. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted essential health services and widened gaps in routine immunization coverage, leaving millions at risk of preventable diseases. This year’s World Immunization Week theme — “Long Life for All” — emphasizes ensuring a healthy life for everyone means including those who are most vulnerable and difficult to reach.
