Colloquium on the Ethic of Care and Responsibility in Global Health Partnerships During an Inflection Point in International Relations

May 19 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Co-hosted by Secretariat of the Advocacy for Global Health Partnerships (AGHP), the
Uganda National Academy of Sciences (UNAS), and Global Health Council this gathering will spotlight the Academy’s groundbreaking report, Enacting an Ethic of Care and Responsibility in Global Health Partnerships, and offer a platform to reimagine
how global health partnerships can move beyond rhetorical commitments to equity toward
actionable, relational practices grounded in care, mutual accountability, and humility.

Purpose: At an inflection point in global health and development, these two convenings form
a powerful duo: the first emphasizes ethical reflection and discourse, while the second
calls for foresight and forward-looking commitments. They mark a moment of
convergence among institutions and individuals striving for more human-centered and
equitable global health engagements. This session will introduce the consensus report and explore its conclusions in depth. It will
feature keynote remarks, an “Ethics Lab” scenario-based session, and a reflective panel.
