CARE Global Hunger and U.S. Leadership Forum

February 10, 2021

The number of severely food insecure people worldwide has been steadily increasing, rising nearly 70% over the past four years even before the COVID-19 pandemic ravaged vulnerable communities around the globe. The pandemic has exacerbated this challenge to catastrophic proportions, with the United Nations projecting almost 300 million people worldwide reaching the brink of starvation by the end of 2020, an 82% increase since before COVID-19. The world is facing an unprecedented hunger crisis and the lives of millions hang in the balance, demanding the global community meet this moment with high-impact, sustainable solutions to feeding humanity.

CARE invites you to join our upcoming Global Hunger and U.S. Leadership Forum on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 5:30pm – 7:00pm EST to learn more about the needs as well as sustainable solutions from members of Congress, celebrity chefs, CARE Haiti and WFP Guatemala in-country teams, corporate partners and technical experts.  The conversation will explore how the pandemic has strained food and health systems as well as deepened gender inequality, exacerbating malnutrition at home and around the world, as well as the solutions to global hunger having the greatest impact.

For the first 100 people who register for the event, CARE and our local partners will deliver 10 meals to food insecure families across the U.S. on behalf of each registrant. Join us to support families experiencing hunger in local communities while learning about hunger around the world.
