Building Health Workforce Resilience: Preparing for Tomorrow’s Climate and Health Crises
September 24 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Pandemics, climate change, chronic disease and conflict have pushed health systems to the breaking point, and the health workforce is constantly under pressure to respond to multiple health crises simultaneously. All cadres of health workers – nurses, community health workers, physicians, pharmacists and others – are needed to effectively address the changing needs of patients from the health facility to the last mile. If health workers are the backbone of the health system, then to build health systems that are better prepared for crises requires a robust, more resilient health workforce.
Join us on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to hear perspectives from health workers, NGOs, governments, donors and multilateral partners to examine how to build a resilient, multidisciplinary health workforce that is better prepared and more able to respond to the stressors to the health systems.
