Bridging the Research and Policy Gap—One Tweet at a Time

March 6, 2019
9:30 AM – 10:30 AM ET

Join Population Reference Bureau (PRB) to learn how researchers can use social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and blogging) to more effectively communicate with policy, media, and advocacy audiences. Drawn from the well-regarded Policy Communication Toolkit and its Communicating Research Through Social Media module, this webinar will introduce you to best practices, audience engagement tips, and digital etiquette for sharing research on social media. We promise transforming your research findings into 280 characters and becoming an evidence-based influencer isn’t as hard as it seems!

About the Presenter

Sydney Perlotto is PRB’s resident social media expert—providing advice to staff, consulting with project partners, and managing everyday digital dissemination and strategy. She has extensive experience amplifying the voices of women and girls in both the United States and abroad across a variety of sectors. Prior to working on international reproductive health and domestic population issues with PRB, she was the marketing and communications manager for Awamaki, a rural Peruvian nonprofit that connects female artisans to sustainable tourism and textile markets. She’s all about finding creative ways to translate research and evidence into calls for action.
