Africa (WHO AFRO) Emergency Preparedness and Response Technical Advisory Group (EPR-TAG) Meeting

We warmly invite you to join the upcoming WHO Regional Office for Africa (WHO AFRO) Emergency Preparedness and Response Technical Advisory Group (EPR-TAG) Meeting, taking place 21–23 August 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa and online.

The EPR-TAG is an independent body of 16 experts that provides strategic guidance to WHO on public health emergencies in the African Region, advising the Regional Director.

The meeting comes as the Region faces an increasing number of complex, overlapping emergencies alongside tightening resources. It offers a timely opportunity to identify strategic approaches, taking place just ahead of the 75th session of the WHO Regional Committee in Lusaka, Zambia.

This hybrid meeting will bring together WHO AFRO and the EPR-TAG with a single objective: to generate recommendations that support the new Regional Director on emergency preparedness and response. Partners are welcome to join as observers to follow the discussions and gain insights into emerging regional priorities.
