For more than 50 years, USAID has supported the development, introduction, and scale up of urgently needed health technologies and approaches as part of its broader mission to advance global health. These investments have delivered breakthrough innovations—from new treatments for malaria and tuberculosis to new HIV prevention tools—that have saved countless lives, while at the same time strengthening the capacity of partner nations to conduct research and translate evidence to action. At this critical inflection point for global public health, join us for the launch of USAID’s new five-year strategy for global health research and development. The conversation will reflect on lessons learned from USAID’s five decades of engagement and detail how the agency is evolving its approach to drive continued global health progress through more inclusive, locally-led innovation. This virtual event will feature remarks from Assistant Administrator for Global Health Dr. Atul Gawande alongside other experts from USAID and the global health research community.
