Government Open Until February 15
After 35 days, the partial government shutdown ended and agencies will remain open until February 15. Within the next two weeks, Congress and the President will need to agree on border security measures to avoid another partial shutdown. Passage of the remaining appropriations bills, including State and Foreign Operations, is still unclear. GHC is monitoring the impact of the shutdown on global health community members who receive funding from the U.S. government. If your organization is impacted, please email us at email@example.com.
The State of the Union Address, which was scheduled for Tuesday, January 29, was postponed to Tuesday, February 5.
Due to the government shutdown, the release of the President’s budget release is expected to be delayed.
Updates on 116th Congress
