Measurement and Accountability for Health

Strong measurement and accountability platforms for health will be critical in order to ensure success of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will be important to have a coordinated framework to collect and analyze the health data necessary to measure progress; improve data availability and quality; align investments in health information systems; and hold development partners, national governments and non-state actors accountable to their commitments.

The World Bank, the UN, USAID and other organizations will launch a Global Data Collaborative in late 2015 to coordinate efforts around improving measurement and accountability. GHC will provide updates on the Collaborative as they become available.

GHC, in partnership with CHESTRAD International and other non-governmental organizations, are leading the way to ensure stronger civil society engagement in measurement and accountability.
