High-Level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Growth
The World Health Organization (WHO) High-Level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Growth will host an open consultation with all key stakeholders on May 27. Hosted by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland, the consultation will provide an opportunity to provide input to the Expert Group. The consultation will be held as an informal Town Hall style meeting to maximize audience discussion. Places are limited and participants should RSVP by May 24.

Ending Preventable Child and Maternal Deaths
Last week, USAID marked Burma as the 25th priority country for Ending Preventable Child and Maternal Deaths (EPCMD). USAID selects priority countries based on highest need, demonstrable commitment to achieve sustainable impacts, and the greatest potential to leverage U.S. government programs and platforms. The 2015 election was an important step towards greater peace, prosperity, and democracy for the people of Burma and provides a unique opportunity to improve the health and well-being of its citizens.

WHO Presents: Zika Resources 
Over the past few months, WHO has been developing resources on the Zika virus to inform the public. You can now: download the ‘Zika app’ for Android or iOS devices (also in different languages); visit WHO’s main Zika website which includes fact sheets and others resources; and view weekly updated situation sheets.

GHTC’s New Website 
GHC member, Global Health Technology Coalition (GHTC), recently unveiled its new website and logo. The new website showcases GHTC’s policy and advocacy activities and demonstrates the new breadth of its coalition work.
