WORLD TB DAY 2017

March 14 - March 24

World TB Day is held each year on March 24th to commemorate Dr Robert Koch’s announcement in 1882 of his discovery of the TB bacillus, the cause of tuberculosis. World TB Day aims to build public awareness for action against tuberculosis, a disease which despite being curable, remains a destructive epidemic in much of the world. It is one of eight official global public health campaigns marked by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The theme for World TB Day 2017 is “Unite to End TB.”

GHC is proud to be affiliated with several member and partner organizations who work tirelessly every day to bring an end to the epidemic. Below is a list of events and activities that will be taking place in Washington, DC to commemorate World TB Day 2017:
