Global Report Launch of The Lancet Global Health Commission on High Quality Health Systems in the SDG Era
September 6, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT
Organized by The Lancet Commission
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST
The past two decades have marked a “golden age” of global health, as the world has mobilized to reduce mortality from maternal and child conditions and infectious diseases. However, while access to health care has grown in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), quality of care has lagged. The methods of the past will not address the health challenges we currently face in LMICs, including residual mortality and the rise of non-communicable diseases and injuries, without high quality health systems.
Join Professor Margaret E. Kruk, Commission Chair, and an international panel of experts and policymakers to discuss the Commission’s findings, recommendations, and actionable steps on how to redefine and radically reposition how health system quality is approached in LMICs.
