Struggling with competencies, assessment and other pedagogies of Global Health fieldwork? Are you trying to improve the safety of your trainees while abroad? Do you want to build your toolbox of skills for cross-cultural learning, reflection, and community-based education? Bringing together leaders in international and global health education, this workshop will explore the pedagogies (including service-learning, developmental models of intercultural sensitvity, global perspectives evaluation methods and more), guidelines (such as those backed by the Department of Justice through the Forum on Education Abroad, Duarte’s Standards of Practice in Global Service-Learning, Fair Trade Learning, and others), and safety/security/risk management best practices to optimize global health experiential learning.
This workshop is appropriate for faculty, administrators, and program partners working at undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels.
