Every attack on health care is one too many. One year after the adoption of UNSC resolution 2286, this side-event will look at concrete measures to address this critical issue. To ensure that resolution 2286 is respected, and reinforced by international implementation, we aim to discuss actions that can be taken. The event will focus on WHO’s “Attacks on Healthcare” project as well as collaboration with other actors such as the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) and the World Medical Association (WMA).
On Monday, May 22, WHO will launch the “Live Zone” with the theme of Attacks on Health Care. Activities will include an interactive screen with the latest statistics on attacks on health care, a MSF film viewed through goggles that brings the viewer into an attack on a health center, an ICRC ambulance that demonstrates the aftermath of an attack, and actions participants can take at the “Live Zone” to show support.
You will find the “Live Zone” in the Building E at the bottom of the escalator on the level of the Serpentine bar.
